Painterly concept art landscape
A wide, painterly landscape in the style of a feature animation background. Stable Diffusion XL with the right LoRA gives you control Midjourney won't.

wide painterly landscape, a small alpine village nestled in a valley at dawn, mist clinging to the lower meadows, ribbons of warm sunlight breaking through clouds onto distant mountain peaks, painterly brushwork visible in the foreground rocks, in the style of a feature animation background by studio Ghibli's Kazuo Oga, soft pastel palette with deep cobalt shadows, atmospheric perspective, no humans visible

Stable Diffusion XL is the right tool for concept art when you need something painterly that doesn't fall into Midjourney's defaulted-to-cinematic look. The community LoRAs trained on specific animation studios (Ghibli, Disney era, Cartoon Saloon) give you stylistic control that closed-source models simply don't expose.
The negative prompt is half the work. Without "photograph, photorealistic, 3d render" in negatives, SDXL drifts toward photo realism on landscape prompts because that's what dominates its training. The CFG scale at 6.5 is the sweet spot for SDXL — higher and details get crunchy, lower and the prompt stops mattering.
Run this in Forge, ComfyUI, or any SDXL-supporting frontend. If you're paying for a hosted SDXL via Replicate or fal.ai, the same parameters apply.
